Eligibility Criteria for Admission 2026

Ensure you meet the basic MCC requirements before applying.

  • NEET Qualification: Mandatory. You must score above the cutoff percentile.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as of 31st Dec 2026.
  • Academic: 50% Aggregate in PCB (General) / 40% (Reserved Category).

Deemed Universities are open to students from ALL states. A student from Delhi can apply to Manipal (Karnataka) or Symbiosis (Pune) freely.

NRI Quota in Deemed Universities

15% of seats in Deemed Universities are reserved for NRI/OCI candidates. This is a golden opportunity for students with lower NEET scores but higher budget.

  • Who is Eligible? Actual NRIs or Students sponsored by First-degree NRI relatives (Parents/Siblings).
  • Fees: Usually $30,000 - $50,000 USD per year.
  • Documents: Sponsorship affidavit, Embassy certificate, and Relationship proof are mandatory.
Did You Know?

Many vacant NRI seats are converted to Management seats in the Mop-Up / Stray Vacancy round. This allows Indian students to claim them if they can afford the fees.

MCC Counselling Process Flow

The MCC Counselling Process

Admission is conducted in 4 rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round.

    Registration: Register on mcc.nic.in specifically selecting "Deemed Universities".
  • 2
    Security Deposit: Pay the non-refundable registration fee (~₹5,000) AND a refundable security deposit of ₹2,00,000.
  • 3
    Choice Filling: Select colleges. Note: There are no government subsidized seats in Deemed universities.
  • 4
    Allotment: If allotted, you must join the college or exit (with conditions).

When Is the ₹2 Lakh Security Deposit Forfeited?

Be careful! You will lose your ₹2,00,000 deposit if:

  • You are allotted a seat in Round 2 or Mop-Up Round and you do NOT join.
  • You join the seat but resign later without following exit rules.
  • You provide wrong information/documents during admission.

Safe Exit: Round 1 is the only "Free Exit" round where you can leave an allotted seat without penalty.

What NEET Rank Is Required?

Top Tier (Low Fees)

550 - 600+ Marks

For colleges like KMC Manipal, Symbiosis, Hamdard (Fees < 18L).

Mid Tier

400 - 550 Marks

For colleges like JSS, KS Hegde, Amrita, MGM (Fees 18L - 22L).

Management Tier

200 - 400 Marks

For colleges with higher fees (> 25L) like DY Patil, SRMC, Santosh.
